Bronze Plaques, Memorial Plaques, Donor Walls, Tree of Life and more…
The Tree of Life is a great way to commemorate people who have contributed to your cause. It isn’t as traditional as memorial plaques are and so is less stuffy and more approachable – basically, people won’t think that you have to be dead to be commemorated.
The tree is a great symbol. Some say that when you stand far enough back from a tree, you can see its aura glow. Trees are symbols of power and long-lasting life. They are rejuvenated every year, and with their many seeds, give birth to baby trees under the right conditions. They make oxygen for us to breathe. We use their leaves for shade from the hot sun, and their wood for paper, houses and boats. Trees are some of the most altruistic and important natural occurring organisms in life.
Similarly, when you add donators to the tree of life, you incorporate one into a community, an ecosystem, if you will, of givers. No matter what happens there are people who appreciate the many uses of a gift. And showing the giver as part of a larger cause, and not in the guise of traditional memorial plaques, is a way to make him feel like he has contributed to something beyond him, without any ulterior motives.
