Special Engraved Invitations
How many times have you been asked, “Were you expecting a personally engraved invitation?” I have been asked this many times. Mostly by family members who started dinner without me or friends who hit up the latest Coen Brothers’ movie without dropping me even a telephoned or text messaged invite. This begs the question though, wouldn’t we all be more inclined to attend social functions if our invites came on engraved bronze plaques? I know I would!
Maybe I just like attention or perhaps I don’t get invited to enough events, but I would shift my schedule around significantly for a party that came with a cast bronze plaque engraved with “Save the Date!” and a personal message to me. Maybe something like: “You being our dearest friend, we wanted to make special care to let you know just how much we need you at this party. Literally, you are as vital to our good time as the very expensive artisinal beer we’ve ordered and the cake, which is a specially designed likeness of you made by the Cake Boss himself.” You know something like that.
So just some advice, if you want attendance at your next swaray, invest in some specially engraved invitations. Your friends will feel weird if they don’t stop by.
