Memorial Plaques And Tribute Statues

When you pass a memorial and you see the elegant bronze statue in the center, representing some triumphant victory of a time long past, do you ever stop to read the memorial plaques? I’ve read a good number myself and I must say I am pleasantly amazed at the courage of the honored. Each story has a unique spin, with the historical relevance of the event depicted. It could be something grandiose and national, like an ode to the Civil War or a loving tribute to a town hero lost in tragic times. Either way, the cast bronze plaques are always carefully made.

History shapes the way we perceive our world. By honoring those who have changed our lives, we acknowledge a forward progression. It gives us hope to a brighter future and encourages us to be just as valiant and strong through adversity. We have to make the best of our time while we can so that generations to come can be inspired to continue changing the world. Whether it’s a big splash or a little ripple, our actions define who we are. The men and women tributed in these glorious cast statues complete with bronze plaques showed their true colors.

Bronze Plaques For the Great Among Us

memorial plaquesThere shouldn’t be any absolutes in life. There may be status quos, and certain traditions we generally adhere to and these are good for most of us. But those special few believe themselves destined for greater futures than the ones laid out for most others. And they may bend the traditions and break from the status quo in order to do what they feel they must. And because they have trusted themselves, and followed the old Greek precept, know thyself, they have become successful. They have known it all along, what was in store for them. There is no way to bring them back to center, for they can only do it on their own.

These people are special, and they are usually rewarded with fame, or money, or a legacy that outlives them. And for this reason we should remember them with bronze plaques, as examples to the others who know they are different and have a different course to follow. It will be hard, but that the knowledge that one day it will all be worth it, and that it is all they can do, is made more easily discernible with the aid of memorial plaques.

Context and Bronze Plaques

tree of lifePeople are the same everywhere. It’s only their context that changes. They like to be vigorous and studious at different times, they enjoy pleasure and being happy, they sympathize with their common man, more so depending on their shared context: religion, nationality, race.

It’s interesting to see how differently context can affect people. Those who live in hot places develop different habits than those who live in cold, siestas for example. And the way they treat their dead, and how they give back to the community in legacies can also change from place to place.

Many people with a lot of money give it back to their community, and they are commemorated with bronze plaques or memorial plaques of another kind. Typically the more money they have, the more open they are with who they give it to. Billionaires open foundations, millionaires keep it in the family. There’s nothing wrong with this; money is another form of context, it allows us certain things and means certain things to certain people. And the funny thing is, it’s mostly uncertain. Wills often leave one kind of surprise or another, markets fluctuate, fortunes shrink.

But while certain customs change according to context, behavior does not. Everyone who receives a gift always says thanks, and depending on the size and their resource, with bronze plaques or not.

Live for the Present, and Cast Bronze Plaques

cast bronze plaquesIt’s hard to know what will happen in the future. The creation of a Palestinian state for example, could come to pass, or it could not. Time will tell based on those who think about the repercussions of their actions. Anything could happen. Today could be the last day of your life. You don’t know.

That’s why you have to think about what you’ve done so far. Is it worth telling a story about? Will people remember you when you’re gone? Will they commemorate you with bronze plaques, and name schools after you? What will you be remembered for?

How can you begin living your life so that they talk about you, want to carve your face into cast bronze plaques? With words, ideas, or money? Start today. Start living for everybody: for peace, sunsets, your neighbor, your children. Then you will realize that a love for the future is a love for the present and the past. Your actions will inspire and you will not feel afraid of death.

You will be ready to live to the fullest, to know that your actions will be for the best. And when you stop trying to live for the future, that’s when you will be remembered by cast bronze plaques.

Family, Rembrance and Cast Bronze Plaques

bronze plaquesWe all want to be remembered when we die. That’s part of why we have children in the first place, so something can exist after we are lying in the ground. Most of us die and will never be remembered in a hundred years. Usually actors, writers and politicians are the ones who are. Actors achieve prominence in their 30s, artists in their 40s and politicians in their 50s. Many times these important people’s lives are cut short, due to their lifestyles.

The average person wants to make money in life, for many reasons. Primary among them is freedom, for with money comes the ability to do whatever one will. Secondarily, is to be remembered as a success, to give the younger generation a chance to succeed in ways the older never had available. This is so that the younger generation will have the freedom to become an actor, artist or politician, to launch the family name into the highest echelons of success and well-breeding, so as to begin a family line that will look back to a common ancestor and say, we ought to erect cast bronze plaques in his name. Such is the case in many prominent families, from the Morgans, to the Hearsts, to the Bushes. So, if possible, be great and aspire to have bronze plaques with your name on them one day.

Modesty and Generosity and Cast Bronze Plaques

Cast bronze plaques should be tasteful. They should reflect the person they commemorate. If one gives a large sum, it’s appropriate to have larger cast bronze plaques.

CAST BRONZE PLAQUESI once knew a Russian man who was very modest. He had accumulated great sums of money in the telecommunications game in the ’70s and had doubled it all in the market in the ’80s. By the time he was an old man, he lived within his means, eating well and drinking wine, he had a nice estate in the suburbs and a vacation home. He drove American cars; he had a truck and an old Cadillac. Just looking at him you’d never think he was a multimillionaire.

When he passed away a few years ago, he left over a million dollars to a local Jewish community center. It was the largest gift they had ever received and they decided to commemorate him with memorial plaques of some kind. I knew he would not want to have a gaudy stained glass memorial to his name, not that the center was planning for such a tawdry effect, so I suggested we invest in a simple tree of life. That would allow others to see the possibility for modest generosity.

Cast Bronze Plagues For Memorial Museums

Some of the most emotional memorial walls are the ones featured in museums. Both local and large scale historical societies and museums have at least one section devoted to a memorial. It is a way to educate and to remember. There is great honor in having these memorials made so they better be made right.

All names must be carefully tracked and approved prior to having them sent to the engraver. All logs with significant dates, places, and facts you want engraved should also be included prior to commissioning the engraving. The last thing you need is to find out the name should have had an “e” instead of an “o” in it after the engraving was completed.

As for donor plaques, well, were you able to secure the exhibits and props because of a beneficiary? You should acknowledge from where artifacts, stories, and donated personal items came. Cast bronze plaques look nice set side-by-side with these items of interest.  They finalize the look and provide purveyors with information.

Education is the best way to ensure a better future. Memorials, museums, and historical societies exist to encourage change and betterment by maintaining valuable records of the past. A professional engraver can guarantee a beautiful product to include with these memorials and exhibits.

School Additions Need Donor Walls

I had recently accompanied a college friend of mine to lunch. We picked our favorite spot on the campus as our meeting location. In the past few years so much has changed. The campus is currently undergoing renovation. They have signs up all over the main plaza with pictures of the new building designs. The first thing I thought was, “Gee. Why couldn’t our campus look this cool when we were here?” Having graduated before the new facilities and classrooms is a downer. The upside is that once the renovation is completed the campus will look much nicer. Yes, in a few short years students will be walking through the clean, brand new halls dedicated after Dean Whatshisname, School President Whowasthat, and the wealthy benefactor, Hegave Usmoney.

And what is a campus hallway and new dorm building without its iconic donor walls? Having cast bronze plaques with names and a biography are a nice way to complement an influential donor’s portrait. It’s a way to commemorate the opening of the school additions and to stir some excitement for applicants.  And, after all that work and money, something has to show gratification and modesty. Before completion of the building you should really look into a quality engraver.

Cast Bronze Plaques for Big Star-Worthy Accomplishments

cast bronze plaquesI often travel with my father on business trips. It’s something I’ve been lucky to do since I was much younger. One of the stops we made was Hollywood, California. Being the film geek I am, I requested we go see the Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard. These brass cast memorials (often confused as bronze plaques) are a testament to those in film, television, radio, music, and theater. It’s definitely a sight to see.

The downside is that so many people make a difference in the world but only the famous get placement in this grandiose exhibit. We can’t all have our names etched in stars around the Hollywood Walk of Fame but that doesn’t mean we aren’t stars in our own right. Having accomplishments noticed is one thing, but having them etched in cast bronze plaques is a whole other thing. That’s why we should have memorials commissioned for the people that make and have made contributions to our society, even if it is just on the local scale.

A star is a star. It doesn’t mean you burn any less bright because you didn’t do your work for Hollywood. With a cast bronze plaque stating your name, accomplishments, and contributions everyone (at least in your town) will know who to thank and remember.
